Pediatric Speech Pathologist:
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a part-time, contract position (10-20 hours per week) at our Lakewood Ranch, FL location. The role offers flexible hours with the potential for an increase in hours as our client base expands.
As a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist at Word Therapy, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing treatment for a range of communication and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients. You will work closely with children, their families, and a team of healthcare professionals to create and implement tailored treatment plans that foster development and improve quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose communication and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
- Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide education and support to families regarding treatment goals and progress.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Stay informed about the latest developments and techniques in speech-language pathology through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric speech and language disorders, as well as effective treatment methodologies.
- Proven experience working with children with speech and language impairments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with children and their families.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional growth in the field.
