Pediatric Occupational Therapist Job (OT)

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) for a part-time, contract position (10-20 hours per week) at our Lakewood Ranch, FL location. The position offers flexibility, with the potential to increase hours as our client base grows.

As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist at Word Therapy, you will assess, diagnose, and treat children with a variety of developmental, sensory, and motor challenges. You will work closely with families and other healthcare providers to develop personalized treatment plans that address the specific needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the physical, sensory, and developmental needs of pediatric patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to help children improve their ability to perform daily activities.
  • Provide treatment for fine motor skills, sensory processing issues, coordination difficulties, and activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
  • Educate families and caregivers on strategies to support children’s progress at home and in other settings.
  • Track and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and innovations in pediatric occupational therapy through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric developmental milestones and therapeutic interventions for children.
  • Proven experience working with children with a variety of physical, sensory, and developmental challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
